For those people with plenty of available cash and space, these home gym fitness equipment items should suit most of your needs. First, buy a Bowflex. A Bowflex home gym comes in a number of different models and none is cheap. The most basic model costs about $600, while you can pay over $2000 for the best models.

So you will need to be sure that you will actually use it. Having said that, it is a very high quality product, and has attracted great reviews from satisfied customers. Like all home gyms, the Bowflex allows you to use one piece of fitness equipment for a variety of workout exercises such as leg curls, and squats.

Second, you should invest in an Olympic barbell, and rack, with a variety of disk weights ranging from 5 or 10 pounds up to 30 or so. Remember you can always buy more weights as you need them. You should also buy an adjustable bench press rack and a squat rack. Some small dumbbells would complete your set of home gym fitness equipment.

Second, you will need an exercise bench. A barbell rack will also be more than useful. This list of equipment is probably more intermediate than beginner, however if you are serious about using home gym equipment to improve your fitness, you will need this set of equipment at some point anyway. However, if you are on a seriously limited budget, a couple of adjustable dumbbells and a few different disks will get you started.
