Maximizing Your Workouts with Weight Machines

Free weights are things of the past when you put them next to weight machines and compare the two.

Weight machines are relatively safer. Even if it is recommended that you exercise caution when using a weight machine, it is more likely for you to drop a free weight on yourself than to injure yourself using a machine. Some interesting weight machines include:

Typically, weight machines have more stations that focus on the upper body. A great weight machine, however, will also provide you with the means for working out your lower body, like your hamstrings and quads and more.

Take for instance, stack machines. These are really easy to adjust. All you do is change the position of the pin. Plate loads give you the same options but are more easily adjustable. This is quick and safe. You can also forget about ruining the machine because it’s meant to be durable. You can alternate from ten to a hundred in an instant.

An all-around weight machine will come with a pair of handlebars that you can work your traps with. You can also use these for your delts, pecs and other muscle groups. It will also have a bar that is sort of like that too, that is connected to a sturdy cord or cable that can work your abdomen, biceps, triceps and a lot more!

Your dorsals will also get a good work out from machines that have pivots and swivels. You can even do a few extra pull ups with the already included chinning bars. You can’t even attempt to do that with barbells.

Some really intense machines have a built in rowing machine to give you the best and most intense workout you can ever have. This way, each and every muscle in your body gets that full workout it deserves.

A good machine should have an adjustable backrest that you can adjust to meet your exercise needs, whether you may need to start doing sit-ups at floor level or low intensity crunches. That bench should also be adjustable so you can do bench presses in one easy movement. This makes the weight machine an integral part of your life, because you can never really outgrow it as it can be made to evolve with your work out.

A few other machines let you adjust the bench so it works as an incline plane too, which is useful for when you do your hyperextension exercises and abs and back muscle exercises. Some exercise machines can be found below.

There are two sides to everything, and this is no exception. There are also some kinks to having a weight machine.

They cost a whole lot more than free weights, much so because these are, as mentioned, worthy lifetime investments. Free weights usually cost a hundred dollars or less while weights machines usually cost four times more. Some even go higher depending on the complexity of the machine.

Looking it at it this way, it takes more thinking to know if you’re overworking your muscles. Since these have fixed directions, you have to be more creative to give you a wider range of motion for your muscles.

However, a good weight machine will have a lot of possibilities for adjustment which will make it close to impossible to even consider these small problems.
