The word “Pilates” has been quite abused the past few years. It has become an often misused label for any number of supposedly new-age fitness regimens, some of which are completely outside of the original philosophy. Without a policing body, no one can stop the frauds. For those interested in real Pilates, there are some essential items you will need to get started.

The individual objects may go by many names, but they are all the same in the end. A mat, balls, and rings; these are all indispensable tools for building a healthier body.

Though the notion of “Girls can’t do what men can” has become totally passé; there are some real differences that hold true because of physiological reasons.

Even though there quite a number of women who are able to get those big, well-toned and well-sculpted muscles the general male population already has a natural advantage because of their natural tendency to try and develop their upper body.
