Recent developments in the field of fitness have provided health buffs in various fitness facilities with more choices and mediums for getting that gorgeous body. These can range from the expensive to the pocket friendly. There are of course those unavoidable hype let-downs, but what products haven’t? What matters is the workout you’re getting from each of them.

Treadmills are a classic piece of equipment in any fitness facility. They’re simply a permanent fixture. Elliptical trainers may not have been as popular as before, but are becoming more in demand now. Even rowing machines have proved their worth in a typical home gym. They may not look like much, but they do the job.

Weights like dumbbells or free weights are cheaper than the equipment mentioned above, but are also very effective. These are essential parts of any respectable home gym. They are a basic part of any fitness facility because they can be used in a wide number of ways that provide you with a myriad of movements and exercises.

They can be used depending on your degree of skill and capacity and adjusting them is as easy as adding or removing an extra weight from the bar. Resistance bands are also somewhat basic and essential because they can be used depending on the needs of the individual user.

Weight machines are a really good investment. They may be expensive but they are worth every penny. They give you choices in stations that let you do different exercises in safely and easily. These also last a lifetime.

You also need to have low impact or low-intensity equipment in your gym, if you want yours to be a comprehensive one. Try some stepping machines, aerobic equipment and stationary bikes. They strengthen and burn simultaneously.

You can also opt to include some forms of alternative exercises in your gym. Provide yourself with Pilates equipment. A Pilates ball, magic ring or even a reformer is a welcome piece of equipment in any home gym. You may feel that itch to become more adventurous, so to prepare for that itch of curiosity it would be wise to provide yourself with these Pilates equipment that can also be used for a lot of other easy exercises too!

Of course, all of these would be incomplete without some sort of measuring device to track your progress, wouldn’t it? Some of these useful fitness accessories include a heart rate monitor. This usually comes built-in a treadmill or a stationary bike. The standalone equipment are usually much cheaper and more spot on, though.

When you start planning to equip your home gym, you have to take a lot of factors into consideration. One o the most important factors of course is your budget. You, however, have to justify your budget according to the quality and safety you want to guarantee for yourself too.

The most vital part is what you are willing to do to be able to equip your gym with tools that you will enjoy using. If you don’t enjoy using a piece of exercise equipment, you may end up not using it at all. That won’t do much for you.

Thankfully, the quality of exercise equipment out on the market today has improved a lot over the years. They are durable, safe and very enjoyable. They are good investments for your confidence, fitness, health and over-all well-being and are great additions to any fitness facilities.

  1. A strength program does not have to be complex; just do basic exercises that hit all the major muscle groups in the chest, abs, back, shoulders, arms, and legs. This will generally include two to three sets of 10 to 15 reps for the basics such as squats, presses (barbell or dumbbell), and pull workouts (cable pull down, arm and leg curls, etc). If you don’t own a gym system or a set of free weights, you can do a variety of lunges, leg lifts, wall sits, bridges, and ab crunches right on the floor (preferably on a mat) without any equipment at all.

Agreed. Simple is probably the best especially for anyone keen to embark on a fitness exercise routine. Thanks, Kevin.
